It's been a busy week

Last weekend I did a whistle stop tour of East Lancashire and West Yorkshire seeing relatives, giving a talk at the library in Rawntenstall and restocking shops. On Sunday we stayed in Otley and came across this beautiful display of knitted poppies cascading down the local church.

My last day was spent interviewing number 11/100 men - an old class mate who I haven’t seen properly since I was 16 other than a brief reunion 10 years ago. We used to sit next to each other in Georgraphy class, neither of us passed the exam so I think it’s fair to say there was a lot of chatting back then too.

I came back to London in a heady state of nerves anticipating my first on air interview - yikes! I really dont know why I feel such inner panic when it comes to the thought of putting myself ‘out there’ but it does. Needless to say my stomach was in knots until I met the lovely, earthy, warm and friendly Jo Good from BBC Radio London who instantly put me at ease. I might say I even started to enjoy myself. Here it is if you fancy a listen - The Jo Good Show (from 6:00 minutes in to 26:20)
