We all finish up in the same place in the end

Clifton 75. Married. Two grown up children. Two grandchildren. Semi retired business man.

Before we start - how’s it been during Covid?

We’ve been absolutely fine but sadly my wife’s brother and his wife died of it within a week of each other!

How are you?

I’m absolutely fantastic. I’ve always had a positive disposition. I’m still busy. I walk up Pendle Hill every birthday (kindred spirits). I love going up there. I’m 75, rapidly approaching the departure lounge!

What do you think about faith?

I'm not particularly religious. My beliefs are based on being brought up as a Christian. I think we should treat each other with respect, we're all equal. We all finish up in the same place in the end. My mother was quite principled in that way, she used to quote the Bible although she wasn’t religious either!

I believe in God but I think God appears to people in different ways. People interpret things to suit their own outlook. When people use religion as an excuse to persecute people that annoys me. When I go into a church or cathedral I feel there is something there. Something greater. I think faith and goodwill will over come evil in the end. That’s one thing that gets me down is when I start to lose that faith.
