I’ve had a lot of men touch my arse and I really don’t like it!

How are you?

I am living life day to day and seeing where it ends up after suffering for four years. Things are pretty good now. I have a new house, we live in a new area and the kids are doing well. Tomorrow I have an interview for a job in the local school. Right now I work five days a week as a part time dinner lady. I have to wear a stupid hat and ridiculous uniform. It’s very boring. I sign the register, serve the kids their food, take their money, wash up and clean the floors. It’s not taxing at all but it’s very physical.

How do you feel about the weather?

I never purposely check the weather, you see what it looks like and off you go. My favourite time of year is the autumn but the best weather is snow.

What do you think about children?

Well, I have four! They aren't my world but I have a lot of time and respect for them. After what we've been through they should be screwed up but they're not, I am really proud of my kids.

What do you think about body image?

I got run over when I was younger and was told I'd have a permanent limp and would need a knee replacement. People used to think the scars on my legs were ladders in my tights and would always make comments - consequently I've a lot of hang ups about my legs. I made a decision not to let it hold me back though. I climb mountains and do ballet and I haven't needed a new knee yet!

How do you see yourself?

Caring, reliable, honest and a good mum. Although I get tearfu,l I am a lot stronger than I once thought I was.

How do you feel about marriage?

He suppressed me more than I realised. Since I got him arrested I’ve changed. I’m actually not against marriage, it’s a good thing if you marry the right one - I just didn’t. It works for a lot of people. I would do it again but it has to be a partnership.

What brings you down?

Definitely my ex husband.

What do you like about yourself?

I like my boobs, (laughing) my eyes and my figure is good. I like the fact that I’m caring and independent. Although I might not have a lot, what I have is mine. There have been uphill struggles but I like my own space and company. I don’t need a lot of friends around me like I used to. I'm really settled and contented.

What are your dreams?

I don’t aspire to be an amazing artist or anything. My hope is that my children grow up well rounded and I try to encourage them to reach their goals.

I’d like it if men would keep their hands to themselves, that would be a dream come true. I’ve had a lot of men touch my arse and I really don’t like it! It's a problem women have to put up with and they shouldn't have to.

Who or what inspires you?

My kids inspire me.They have the ability not to worry about anything. I wish I was a kid again.

What are you thoughts on faith?

I believe in God but I'm not religious. There is someone looking out for you "up there", a guardian angel! White feathers confirm my belief. I don't know quite what it is, but there is something and it brings me comfort.

What do you think about life?

Sometimes I wonder what the point is. We all end up dying anyway. I think you have to experience as much as you can with whatever means you have. If I had lots of money I would be trying out all sorts of things - but I don't. I think our little country is quite amazing, I think you should see as much of it as you can.

What do you think about death?

If your number's up, it's up! You can't do anything about it, we all die one day. I want the Nolan's song "I'm in the mood for dancing" then cremate me.

What would you like to leave for the next generation?

Nothing! Let them find out for themselves. I don't have any great pearls of wisdom. Make mistakes, accept the choices you make. Learn not to regret anything - it's just wasted energy. Make the most of what you have, there is always someone worse off than you are.

Have you learned anything about yourself from this experience?

I have sore cheeks from laughing. It’s highlighted that I have more positive traits than I thought, it has been a funny, enjoyable experience.
